The Ice Bucket Challenge is a viral campaign aimed at raising awareness and money for the ALS Foundation. The ALS foundation is working to help find a cure for and help those suffering from myotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
A person is nominated by a friend who has already completed the challenge, and has 24 hours to dump a bucket of ice water over their heads, or donate $100 to the ALS Foundation. Usually, this is done in the shower, or driveway and filmed on a cell phone. Then the video makes it way online and the campaign continues to grow.
Keith Yandle of the Phoenix Coyotes decided to nominate his teammate Paul Bissonnette to participate. Bissonnette not only accepted the challenge, he took it the next level. He got a helicopter, flew to the top of the nearest mountain and got an ice cold shower from the helicopter. Oh, and he nominated 3 of the biggest names in sports to try to one up him. Now, LeBron James, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson will have to figure out how they can top getting an ice water shower from a helicopter on top of a mountain.Â
