Jay-Z is now licensed to deal - as an NBA & MLB agent

Listen to Jay-Z on iHeartRadio

(Yahoo!) - We've known that Jay-Z is a baller who's got game, but now he also has a license to deal — as an official sports agent representing athletes in their negotiations with NBA and MLB franchises.

The fact that Jay-Z is licensed to work as an NBA agent was confirmed by Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for Jay-Z's Roc Nation SportsESPN reports. In addition, MLB Players Association spokesman Greg Bouris told ESPN that Jay is also good to go as an agent with MLB.

Yet it's not exactly clear about how soon Hova can step up to the negotiation table on behalf of the players he's repping. ESPN quotes a source close to the mogul that said, as of Wednesday, Jay had yet to unload the less than one-percent share he still owns in the Brooklyn Nets. But it's been speculated that Jay will dump his interest in the Nets, so he can represent athletes.

Jay's first signing is expected to be Oklahoma City Thunder all-star Kevin Durant. Yet even before Jay-Z officially received his agent's license, his Roc Nation Sports agency has been wheeling and dealing. So far they've been mostly in an "Empire State of Mind" signing New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Canoe and New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith. But they're also repping female baller Skylar Diggins, who was recently drafted by the Tulsa Shock. Suppose it won't be long until Hova's got 99 athletes and Skyler's one.
